Kazumitsu Ito earned his MD from the University of Tokyo in 1995 and master' s degree in Japanese studies from The Open University of Japan in 2022. Ito has published eight Japanese-language books on Japanese literature and three books in the field of medicine. Ito has also published four books in the United States, including The Meaning of Living: Toward a Philosophy of Life. Kazumitsu Ito is currently the director of the Takamigaoka Clinic of Ophthalmology in Japan and a graduate student of Japanese studies at The Open University of Japan.
