Overview

Little D was sad because her dog Spike had died. Hildie noticed Little D crying under a tree and went over to comfort her. When Hildie found out why Little D was crying, she shared that she'd felt the same way when her own dog, Spike, had died. The girls were shocked to find that their dogs had had the same name! Hildie assured Little D that her sadness would go away over time, but the fun times she'd shared with Spike would always be remembered.

Growing up in the Philippines, Dolores D. Bennett wrote about whatever inspired her to reflect or made her laugh. When she retired from teaching GED classes in 2019, she was scheduled to go Spain as missionary, but COVID -19 canceled her plans. While quarantined, however, she wrote her biography, His Hand on Me, which was published in 2020. In 2021, she began writing children's books and published The Big Black Feather, The Wise Hen, The Hen's Dream, Cutita and Vaquita, PupPup the Bully, and Stories of Boogie's Friends (also known as Si Askal and Sigang Aso). In 2022, she published The Rock, The Sky is So High, and A Surprise Reward.
