Overview

Sigfrid roams the aftermath of a war-torn kingdom in the wake of a brutal battle against disciples of the Dark Flame. He's one of the world's last holy warriors-a Spellsword-and he's tasked with upholding justice and keeping the Bright Flame burning. He slays monsters by contract, upholding morality despite being jaded to the world, and is summoned to answer a challenge by a Duke-pull the giant sword of stone from the vines of the Ancient Grove and win a small fortune along with his daughter's hand in marriage. As he battles more monsters of the Dark Flame in a slow burn drama, he becomes embroiled in the Duke's fight against Prince Kurtis the Cruel. Joined by his Flame Kindlers: the ever-pleasant dryad Moonrose and her apothecary tinctures, Aldora the half-siren princess escaping the prince's clutches, and Sinraelle, a mysterious assassin and the princess's lady-in-waiting, Sigfrid sets out to prove that the light of this world will never fade, no matter how dark times become.
