OverviewThe study was conducted with the aim of defining plant arrangements that would increase the productivity and grain quality of irrigated rice cultivars. Four cultivars were used, subjected to two row spacings and three sowing densities. The parameters evaluated were: flowering, plant height, culm diameter, number of culms, tillers and panicles m-2, culm fertility, number of tillers plant-1, panicle length and weight, percentage of sterile spikelets, number of grains per panicle, number of well-formed and defective grains, weight of 1000 grains, grain yield, dimensions of polished grains, whole grain yield, white centre of grains and chalky grains, amylose content of grains, and gelatinisation temperature. The results allowed us to conclude that: the rice genotypes showed an increase in grain yield with a reduction in row spacing. No significant differences were found between grains from the main culm and tillers for amylose content and gelatinisation temperature.
