OverviewThe research is based on the hypothesis that the spaces described in the stories have a profound influence on the journeys, lives and cultural identities of the migrant characters. The landscapes crossed, the borders crossed and the places inhabited reflect the challenges and aspirations of the characters. In this way, space becomes an essential engine of narrative, shaping the characters' identities and experiences. The novels feature characters whose journeys oscillate between self-realization, resistance and the quest for identity. The study mobilizes the theory of transculturality and geocriticism to analyze literary texts.Transculturality examines how literary works reveal the cultures of ""self"" and ""Other"" through cross-sections of cultural identities. This approach enables us to study the issues of cultural hybridization, identity and otherness in texts. It draws on the theories of Josias Semujanga, Justin Bisanswa, Coulibaly Adama, Gbanou Selom, Bouraoui Hédi, Manfred Gsteiger, Angela Buono, and Diané Véronique to explore the influence of spaces on the journeys and lives of migrant characters.
