Schubert completed his PhD at Purdue University on a General Motors Fellowship, and has published 10 book chapters, 13 journal articles, and 81 conference papers. He has received grants from NASA, DoD, NSF, DOE, and USDA, and was a Fulbright Specialist for the Department of State. Schubert holds 43 US patents, plus 13 in the EU. While in private industry, he was a Systems Engineer and Technical Fellow, and is now a Professor of Engineering at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), where he also serves as Director of the Richard G. Lugar Center for Renewable Energy. He is CEO of Green Fortress Engineering, Inc., commercializing his intellectual property in cleantech and in situ resource utilization.
