Partner at Hogan Lovells, Brussels School of Competition and senior lecturer at the Universite de Liege Paul Nihoul dirige le Centre de droit de la consommation. Il est Professeur a l'Universite de Louvain (Belgique), ou il enseigne le droit de la concurrence et le droit de la consommation (aspects nationaux, europeens et internationaux). Il a etudie le droit a l'Universite de Louvain et a la Harvard Law School (USA). Au cours de sa carriere, il a exerce les fonctions suivantes : avocat au barreau de New York (Cleary Gottlieb Steen Hamilton, USA), conseiller du Ministre belge des Finances, M. Ph. Maystadt, referendaire a la Cour de justice des Communautes europeennes, aupres des Juges Joliet et Murray; Charge de cours, puis Professeur a la Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, Pays-Bas, ou il a ete titulaire de la Chaire Jean Monnet sur la societe europeenne de l'information. Avocat au barreau de Bruxelles, chercheur associe au Centre de Droit de la Consommation de l'Universite catholique de Louvain et chercheur aux Facultes Universitaires Saint-Louis. Titulaire d'une licence en Droit et d'un DES en Droit economique (orientation assurances) de l'Universite de Louvain, il consacre ses activites au domaine economique avec un interet particulier pour la protection des consommateurs. Membre du Comite de redaction du Journal des Tribunaux de Droit Europeen (J.D.E.), il est l'auteur de plusieurs publications et a collabore a l'elaboration de divers ouvrages.
