Overview

Soul Stealing views the process of recovery from childhood sexual abuse in the author's life. The author uses the literary narrative style to share her experiences throughout the life span, as sexual standards and more have changed during the Twentieth Century. The perpetrators in this trauma syndrome included a work supervisor, a husband, a pastor, and a psychotherapist. Politicians are not a part of her experience, but current events reflect that this problem persists well into the Twenty-First Century. This principle applies: power and higher status do not confer as privilege to take advantage of a person who is na ve, innocent, unable to give informed consent, or any other form of diminished capacity.
