OMG, I couldn't put it down once I started because everything was just moving so fast. I loved the small comic moments like how Cayden hated having a personal guard and how hard they had to work to keep up with him because he practically ran everywhere. Mordecai still hasn't changed much! Old friends are reappearing and new friends.... You have to read this series! You WON'T be disappointed! I'm freely giving my review for an ARC of this book, but I bought it, too! Artio, a lover of the sky and celestial wonders, has been brought back from the heavens. The twins: Avery/Alfreda, the mother of the lands, and Cayden/Caerwyn, the fortress - reincarnated in human form. And lastly, Helga, who displayed an affinity for the dead. Each is on his or her own journey that will end with all four face to face again, after years of separation and deceit. This is the second book in a saga that sweeps across the kingdom of Cathair and the Primordial Lands of the Spirit and the Flesh clans. We join both Avery & Cayden as they struggle to remember what has happened before and fight against those who wish to control them and keep them from the duties they have over the souls and lands. I truly felt as though I was swept up along the journey with Avery & Cayden to save the lands from the darkness and evil that Helga had planned. Clashing with enemies both new and old. Finding allies in unlikely places. Fighting against a magic so dark with the outcome uncertain and shrouded in dense fog. All players moving to the end point, will all be lost or renewed? I'm on the edge of my seat poised to get my hands on the next chapter in this story!
