Sophisticate's Coloring Book contains 20 original line drawing tessellation pattern designs created by artist, Jimmy Hines. These intricate, abstract shapes were designed for you, the sophisticated colorist. You can color them as simply or as complicated as you wish. All of the line drawings are tessellation patterns Jimmy created using the paper cut method. The method developed from using paper and scissors to using a digital pen tool. The results are rhythmic patterns of crisp, sharp lines of varying weights, curves and angles ready to be traced, followed and filled-in. Each design offers opportunities for your imagination to explore your creative side as you color. All pages are all printed on single-sided sheets. The paper stock is 60# white text, finished trim size is 8.5 x 11 and bound with a matte coated cover as a professional trade paperback. On the back cover, a basic color wheel is provided as reference tool. When used properly, it allows you to make smarter choices when mixing color harmonies. I am an American artist currently inspired by my environment of living in a big city, Houston. I see shapes in the repetition of architecture, moving patterns on the freeways, and color in our urban landscapes. I have found I can easily translate these observations by using tessellations patterns (tiling of a plane using one or more shapes with no overlaps or gaps). These tessellations are fun to color, so I designed this coloring book for everyone to enjoy.
