Overview

Picture a big clock in a small town. Its deafening chimes drive people mad, while an ambitious mayor wants a hotel built right next to the clock to attract more tourists – a perfect recipe for disaster. Enter Sophie, the mayor’s daughter, who not only tries to fix the tower clock but also to restore harmony and prosperity in her town. How does she do it? Author Information

Marek Bekerman published his first poems in the Polish satirical weekly, Szpilki, when he was 15. After trying his hand at being a theoretical linguist, he worked for BBC News in London for 21 years as a broadcast journalist. He rejoined the academia in 2014 to lecture in journalism before returning to full-time writing. Marek has written fiction for children and adults. He is also a script writer.
