OverviewSongs from the Labyrinth is a treasure chest of poetry, stories, essays and roadmaps. These Songs are offered from the heart for fellow travelers embarked on the rigorous journey out of bondage into a human renaissance. The impending rebirth is both individual and collective. These Songs are like breadcrumbs that lead through a thick, bewildering forest, or like a strand of Ariadne's Thread leading out of the ancient Minotaur's maze. So many of our fellow travelers feel, sense, and recognize that the old world is passing away. Faintly, the outlines of a possible new world come into focus. What is it-living and growing inside us-that gives substance and shape to a new humanity? And how do we get there together? Table of ContentsReviewsCharles Fox, An award-winning writer, producer and media executive known for transforming dysfunctional organizations into highly productive teams --- Debra Oliver's ""Songs from the Labyrinth"" is no linear experience. Intrigued by her acute observations, I found myself back tracking through her garden of metaphors to bask in an earlier contemplation. A scientist recently shared that poetry is a language with which she could express what science cannot. While Ms. Oliver places our daily existence beneath the microscopic lens of a poet's eye, the way her songs make the intangible tangible leaves me in delightful wonder Moyra Irving, author of Amelie Trott and the Earth Watchers and Amelie Trott and the Mark of Triandor --- Debra Oliver has fast become one of my favorite authors, one whose literary gifts embrace not only screenwriting but poetry, essays, and so much more. Here, beneath one beautiful cover, she offers her reader a real gift of hope, and just when we need it the most. Debra recognizes our collective struggle to let go of the old ways of the world and lend ourselves to something so much better. Songs from the Labyrinth is a very timely read and one of immense service to humanity. It is the result of a lifetime of study, reflection, and dedication to others. This new world is something that can only be achieved by knowing ourselves as One with all creation. Regardless of many serious themes, Debra Oliver's writing is full of contrasts. Her style is ever vibrant, often playful and witty. She delights in the unexpected. I especially loved her depiction of a single daisy speaking truth to the towering monoliths of New York City or her whimsical musings on humanity's true place within the global food chain. Songs from the Labyrinth has much to offer us all - whether we count ourselves as spiritual seekers, visionaries, healers, activists, or just human beings trying to create a better, more sustainable world. It is such an unforgettable collection that fragments of it remain long after the book has been read from cover to cover.
