OverviewNancy K. Crevier's third collection of poetry, Somewhere Lightning Strikes, invites readers to see how love and grief, hope and regret, wonder and simplicity repeatedly burn pathways to the heart. Many of her poems delight in the natural world's magnificence and innocence, from boulders that tell of ""joy in lifting lesser rocks"" to the tickle of an ant on a chin. It is easy to see nature's beauty through this author's eyes, to wonder with her at meteor showers, unadorned birch trees, and the ""parentheses of starry nights."" Images conjured through astute observations highlight the depths of loss (""no glue mends these cracks""), heights of love, and humorous slices of life. Somewhere Lightning Strikes is an excursion you will enjoy if you love reading, poetry, and a chance to marvel.
