Overview

Imogen Quinn is a chaotic bisexual with dreams of becoming a stand-up comedian, crushing stereotypes about autistic people. When she decides to put on a pride festival that's accessible for everyone, she enlists the help of the openly gay captain of the football team, Ollie Armstrong. Dealing with the fallout from his parents' divorce, Ollie is initially hesitant. But it doesn't take long for him to be swept up by Imogen's passion, and he's not the only one. Joined by the (infuriatingly perfect) head girl, musicians, an artist and a star baker--a dream team soon assembles to help plan pride and tackle injustices in their school and beyond. You'd better listen out--they're getting ready to make some noise. Packed full of fun, forever friendships, and fighting back, this YA debut is perfect for fans of I Kissed Shara Wheeler, Gwen and Art are Not in Love, Feel Good, Heartstopper and Not My Problem.

Author Information

Anna Zoe Quirke is a queer and autistic author, librarian, and freelance writer from the North of England. They've written books, scripts, poetry (and much more). Their novel Something to be Proud Of won the Northern Writers' Award for Debut YA Fiction in 2022, was shortlisted for the PFD Queer Fiction Prize, was published with Little Tiger in June 2024, and was nominated for a Carnegie Award in 2025.In her freelance work, Anna writes about mental health, disability, neurodivergence, and LGBTQ+ topics for various charities and organizations such as Kooth, the United Kingdom's largest digital mental health service. They're at their happiest writing stories about chaotic queer and disabled people finding and claiming their place in the world, but they also enjoy exploring cool places, cooking new recipes, and generally being a huge nerd about books, art, and anything else where they can find a story. Lauren Irwin began her career on the prestigious stages of London's West End. By age nine she was cast in Annie (Victoria Palace) and Oliver (Theatre Royal), and had made her film debut in Heart (with Matthew Rhys and Rhys Iffans). More recently, she played a lead role in the movie Lingaa opposite Indian legend Superstar Rajinikanth, which broke box office records, and she recurred on Hallmark's The Eleventh, where she starred alongside the late Oscar winner Cloris Leachman. As a pop singer, Lauren began her career as part of British teen band Just 3 (HHO Records, Junior Eurovision runner up) and went on as a solo artist to release her self penned track ""Stand Tall"" (available on iTunes), which was chosen to become the official song for the Beijing Olympics. After the tragic Sichuan earthquake, she rereleased it in Mandarin as an earthquake relief fundraiser, and went on to tour China on behalf of the cause-at one point performing for a live broadcast to over 800 million people. A documentary was made about her work with child earthquake victims, titled Lauren's Journal and broadcast by MTV Asia. She was made Youth Ambassador to the United Nations. As a narrator, Lauren has recorded many titles, including the New York Times bestseller The Lost Apothecary by Sarah Penner. She is an AudioFile Earphones Award winner, and is the voice of the world-famous Peppa Pig audiobook series. David Lee Huynh is an actor based in New York City. He has appeared onstage Off-Broadway and across the country as well as on film and television.
