It is hoped that it will be acknowledged that these have not been spent in vain. The thanks of the Society are due to Mr. J. T. Irvine for the sacrifices which he has willingly made in the midst of a press of work, in order that he might worthily illustrate his paper on the Cathedral Church at Wells to Mr. H. Hutchings, who has presented the plan of his house to the Society; to Mr. G. T. Clark, who prepared for us the plan of Sherborne Castle, and to all who have contributed matter to this volume.
