At 16, she left school and started sixth form, but she hated the courses her parents had persuaded her to take. First life lesson: no matter how much people love you and try to help and guide you, go with your gut instinct. Debby left and fell into a job in the insurance department of British Coal, where she found a niche. Several years of work and study later, Debby became a Claims Manager for a Lloyds Syndicate, specialising in injury and disease claims. But then she found her way into loss adjusting; the sharp end of the job, out on the road, visiting the accident scene and meeting the witnesses. The job was made for her. Debby covered a large area stretching from the Midlands to the north of England, where she met people from every walk of life and no two days were the same. After 40 years in the insurance claims industry, she had become a good listener and analytical; if it's over-thinking you're looking for, Debby's your woman! She lost both parents close together and, as a means of distraction, Debby retired in 2018 to go travelling with her husband, Andrew. When COVID put a stop to that, she began her first attempt at creative writing, and this is the result. The greatest challenge was to avoid writing in the style of a legal report. Debby's hobbies of cycling, walking and travelling have led her to fascinating places and people the world over, and she would love to share their stories with you. Please contact Debby through the following channels: www.debbybuxton.co.ukwww.facebook.com/debbybuxtonauthorwww.instagram.com/debbybuxtonauthorwww.X.com@dbuxtonauthor Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
