Lopes is Assistant Professor at the University of Porto, Portugal, where his R&D interests are in the areas of complex systems, nonlinear dynamics, automation, robotics, control, fractional calculus and simulation. Duarte Valério is Assistant Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico - University of Lisbon, where he works in the field of control engineering, studying fractional control and fractional dynamic systems, wave energy conversion, distributed systems and bioengineering applications.
