Overview

"THE WRITE BRIDGE JOURNAL In each edition of The Write Bridge, readers are encouraged to ""mind the gap"" as writers and artists with powerful voices explore topics that broaden our thinking. In a 1936 Esquire article entitled ""The Crack Up,"" author F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote: ""Before I go on with this short history, let me make a general observation-the test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in the mind at the same time, and still retain the ability to function. One should, for example, be able to see that things are hopeless and yet be determined to make them otherwise. This philosophy fitted on to my early adult life, when I saw the improbable, the implausible, often the 'impossible, ' come true."" The Write Bridge presents two opposing ideas for creators and readers to delve into-seriously or in fun-in order stretch our imaginations, to move beyond boundaries, to bridge the gap. We hope the themes for The Write Bridge Journal Winter 2023/2024 edition, Solitude and Solidarity, will inspire, enlighten, and entertain you. Our mission is to spark wonder. The Write Bridge is published twice a year and features enthralling poetry, short fiction, and creative nonfiction."

Author Information

"Anamcara Press LLC was founded by Maureen ""Micki"" Carroll in 2014 in celebration of art and community, and in support of authors and artists in their creative endeavors. Assistant Editor and Publicist, Amber Fraley is your typical Gen Xer suburban Kansas wife and mom of one who grew up a book nerd in a dysfunctional family and now writes about those experiences as hilarious therapy. She's the author of the humorous essay collection From Kansas, Not Dorothy, and the viral essay ""Gen X Will Not Go Quietly,"" as well as numerous human interest articles. Amber loves Kansas with all her heart, is frequently awkward in public, and desperately wishes to see a tornado and live to tell the tale."
