Overview

A haunted cop. A ruthless cartel. A quest for vengeance that will leave no one unscathed. When detective John Sole and his partner uncover a connection between a senator and a Mexican drug cartel, they set off a chain of events that shatters Sole's world. The cartel's enforcer murders Sole's partner, wife, and children, leaving him devastated and consumed by a thirst for revenge. Resigning from the police, Sole disappears into the shadows, tracking down those responsible for his family's murder. With each step, he edges closer to his ultimate target: the cartel boss who ordered the hit that destroyed his life. In this gritty thriller, author Glenn Trust takes listeners on a heart-wrenching journey through the underbelly of the drug trade, where a man must confront the darkest parts of himself to find redemption. Can John Sole outmaneuver the cartel and exact his revenge, or will he become another casualty in a war without end?

Author Information

Glenn Trust is the author of the bestselling Hunters, Sole Justice, and Journey Series of mystery/thriller/suspense novels. He has also written standalone works, including Dying Embers, Mojave Sun, and short stories. There are no superheroes or knights in shining armor in his stories. According to Trust, knights are for fairy tales. His books are gritty and based in the real world, with characters who face their frailties while dealing with their roles in the story. The heroes are average people doing the best they can.The villains, as real villains often do, look like us. Trust's monsters hide behind the smiling faces that pass us on the street. They look like us, and this makes them more frightening. He is a Georgia native but has lived in most regions of the country at one time or another. Varied experiences, from construction worker to police officer, corporate executive to city manager, color and provide insight into the characters he creates. His stories are known for detailed plots, solid research, and realism.Today, he writes full-time and lives quietly with his wife and two dogs, Gunner and Charlie. You know you're narrating a character right when your children grab your arm and say, ""Daddy . . . read the bad guy normal, you're scaring us with the voice."" Aside from reading villains in storybooks really well, Derek Shoales has worked on corporate, eLearning, and commercial voice-over projects, been a graphic/web designer and an inventory market mentor, sung bass to baritone in choirs, and played the guitar, electric violin, and Clare whistle.
