OverviewBecause of the way it was planned and the resulting volumes of scientific data it produced the Lewis and Clark Expedition of 1804-1806 was a major contributor to the development of the United States. Many other aspects of our American history impacted and were impacted by this legendary journey across the North American continent. Through a series of articles the author exploressome of the details of the Expedition to clarify some confusion or to shed new light on the adventure. Additional essays work to explain some elements of earlier history that helped shape the Expedition's activities.
