Neal Griffin is the author of Soldier: A Memoir, which provides a candid and raw look at his life during his twenty years in the Army. He is a graduate of the University of Arizona and over ten Army including, Jump School, Special Forces Qualification Course, Artillery Officer Candidate School, Army Fixed Wing, and Rotary Wing Aviator Course. His broad military experience includes assignments in two airborne divisions, 10th Special Forces, and various aviation units during tours in Vietnam, Germany, Korea, and the Dominican Republic. Neal describes his experiences from a soldier's unique perspective in his journey through life, from teenager to maturity. He becomes someone we know as he lays out his flaws, struggles, successes, failures, weaknesses, and insecurities while facing the challenges of military service and holding together a relationship between two kids that got married too young. Soldier: A Memoir stands out because of its style and its reflection of the many challenges facing a large segment of the population. He writes each chapter in a stand-alone style. Reading it, one might think they are reading a novel and mistake it for fiction, without realizing it's a true story. Neal resides with his wife of sixty-two years in Florida and is currently completing a novel drawn from his military experiences.
