Softswitch

Overview

Softswitch are software products that can replace very expensive hardware in VoIP systems. Aimed at network planners and system integrators at carriers and service providers, and at developers of high-value services, this textbook aims to demystify the rationale behind softswitching and clearly explains what makes it tick. It sets out to help readers understand how softswitch will affect their systems, services and vendors, and it explains how to get hardware-style quality, scalability and signalling from a softswitch.
