OverviewThe book explores the health conditions of communities who have suffered from caste prejudices in India for generations. It specifically focuses on the Hadi Caste, and uses the Bauri Caste as a point of reference. The state of Jharkhand in India has been the traditional homeland for the Hadis, listed as one of the Scheduled Castes in the Census of India documents. The book discusses their traditional occupations, customs, rituals, and social interactions in order to offer a detailed understanding of the socio-cultural and political interactions between the health and life status of the Hadi community.
