OverviewThe relationship between sociologists and the Gospel of Jesus is little known, and sociology has no approach to the Gospel's teaching. It seems difficult for sociologists to explain, as they often adopt a posture of mute reserve. How can we understand and explain this lack of interest in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, making it a dubious and inherently problematic subject? The answer explores the conquest of evangelical knowledge by a number of sociologists, assuming a Christianity that disseminates through the Gospel values, cultures and ethics that they adapt in their compositions. She sketches a picture of the pre-sociologists, from Durkheim's scientific and epistemological view that objectified religion would be useful to a viable and rational secularized society, to Weber's experience of the human and intellectual survival stakes in the Gospel of Jesus Christ; and to the diversity of the heirs. Together, these main contributions form the thinking and spirit of evangelical sociology today.
