Simmons is a Colorado native, wife, and mother to two kids. She and her husband Sal live in the suburbs of Denver, and love to snowboard. After some trial and error, they found a unique way to introduce their babies to snowboarding from the comfort of their own home. When they realized what they were doing worked, they decided to create a YouTube video and this children's book so they could share their idea with other families.
