Her writing blends lyrical language with themes of identity, resilience and cultural connection, often shaped by her work with EAL/D learners. Jodie's debut picture book, Wibbly Wobbly Tooth, was released by Austin Macauley Publishers in August 2025. Inspired by the joyful chaos of classroom life and the universal experience of losing a first tooth, it captures the humour and heart of early childhood. This was quickly followed by Grandma's Sandals, a tender and poetic story told through the eyes of a young Vietnamese boy on his first days at an Australian school. Exploring themes of migration, memory and belonging, it gently reminds readers that you can carry home in your heart and honour your past while finding your place in a new world. Jodie has just released her third book, Snifflewhiff and the Big Aaachoooooo, a laugh-out-loud rhyming adventure about germs, teamwork and the importance of aiming your sneeze in the right direction.Jodie holds a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Studies) and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications (Media Analysis and Production).
