His research interests focus on intelligent transport systems, or ITS, including new sensing approaches deploying image recognition technologies. He had worked for Toshiba Corporation more than 30 years and his last position was a senior fellow for promoting new technologies into ITS. He is also actively working for several ITS industry organizations both in Japan and internationally. He is serving as the vice president of Standard and Industrial Relations in the IEEE ITS Society.
