Author Information

Ferdi Çelik holds a PhD in English Language Teaching from Ondokuz Mayıs University in Türkiye. He is the Head of the Foreign Languages Department and the Science Scholar Program Coordinator at TED Çorum College. He also works as an Executive Researcher in the Learning and Teaching Innovations Research and Development Group. His research focuses on smart education, artificial intelligence in language learning, immersive technologies, and learner psychology. His doctoral dissertation on metaverse-based English listening instruction received funding from the Türkiye Scientific Research Grant Program. He has served as a guest editor for the Smart Learning Environments journal and the British Educational Research Journal. He has published in high-impact journals such as BMC Psychology, Smart Learning Environments, The International Review of Research in Open and Distributed Learning, and Journal of Computer Assisted Learning. He has experience in project coordination, including an award-winning eTwinning project. He has also completed more than 30 international training programs on artificial intelligence, educational neuroscience, digital learning, and language pedagogy. Ferdi Çelik aims to connect research, innovation, and practice to improve technology-enhanced language education. Volkan Duran is an Associate Professor at Iğdır University, where he serves in the Department of Psychology. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Curriculum and Instruction from Gazi University and a second doctoral degree in Mathematics from Iğdır University. He also holds degrees in Sociology and Physics, and a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. His research focuses on curriculum theory, instructional design, artificial intelligence in education, and the integration of quantitative methods into curriculum development. He has developed interdisciplinary projects and has taught a wide range of courses including curriculum development, teaching strategies, and educational assessment. He has designed teacher training programs that include emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and virtual reality. He has published over 40 peer-reviewed journal articles, five academic books, and more than 60 book chapters on curriculum innovation, educational technology, and instructional theory. He has also presented over 90 papers at national and international conferences. His recent work includes research on AI-assisted curriculum design and smart accreditation systems in higher education. He currently serves as Education Coordinator at Iğdır University and is a member of the university’s Quality Commission. He is also an active supervisor for graduate students working on digital education, curriculum innovation, and interdisciplinary teaching models. Volkan Duran aims to support innovation in education by connecting curriculum theory with emerging technologies and interdisciplinary research.
