Overview

This book is a PhD. dissertation that presents four published scientific contributions on hospital logistics. It shows the evolution of the internal hospital supply chain, specifically inventory and replenishment system. The authors show how we could leverage the logistics 4.0 concept and the existing automatic systems for hospitals to conceive and develop a smart and automatic logistic system. The achieved objective of this work is summarized in the following points: - Set an efficient management of hospital logistics and supply chain with a high-level of flexibility and anticipation.- Propose a cost-effective solution allowing to considerably reduce the annual high-cost after a quick ROI.- Increase beds capacity after considerably reducing the hospital stock space.- Increase nurses' availability for care activities and improve their working conditions after releasing them from logistic tasks.
