OverviewAn alternative to text-based instruction, this interactive DVD-ROM by Jonathan M. Levine and Gwendolyn J. Levine is a tool for improving veterinary student and practitioner competence in recognizing, diagnosing, and treating neurological problems in dogs and cats. Presented as a series of case studies, commentaries, and tutorials, Small Animal Neurology is menu-driven and can be easily navigated by anyone with minimal computer experience. Thirty-three cases track a range of neurological disorders, and three tutorials cover CT scanning, electrodiagnostics, and vertebral column radiography and myelography. Each case includes a patient description (signalment), chief concern, a video clip of the neurological examination, and pertinent diagnostic studies (for example, CT scan and/or myelogram). Commentary explains the neurological examination and diagnostic studies. Specific information on the animal's diagnosed disease, relevant neuroanatomical information, case treatment and outcome, and references for further reading are also included. The tutorials can be used as stand-alone resources or in conjunction with the cases. Each includes basic guidelines for interpretation, including a discussion of artifacts and numerous digital images of various abnormalities. Full Product DetailsAuthor: Jonathan M.
