His research interests include the study of political tourism, social movements and political mobilities. He is a Co-founder of the Slum Tourism network. Ko Koens is a Postgraduate Researcher at the International Centre of Responsible Tourism at Leeds Met University and a founding member of the Slum Tourism Network. His research focuses on the sustainability of tourism, with a particular interest in small businesses and policy development.
