OverviewA divorced reporter on a remote assignment. An alluring cattleman who captures her heart... Maggie Donovan never imagined that after thirty-four years of marriage, her life would be turned upside down. Left by her husband for a younger woman, she struggles with grief, anger, and the sense that her future holds little hope. When her editor assigns her to the remote Kimberley region to write about women working on cattle stations, Maggie sees it as both an escape and a chance to rediscover herself. At Goddard Downs, she meets Frank Goddard, a widower quietly devoted to his family and the land his forebears have tended for generations. Welcomed into a close-knit Christian household, Maggie witnesses the resilience, faith, and warmth of a family who has faced its own share of sorrow and loss. As she works alongside the women of the station and spends time exploring the rugged landscape, a slow, tender friendship grows between her and Frank-one that has the potential to heal old wounds and open their hearts to love once more. But love comes with challenges. Maggie and Frank must confront lingering pain, family expectations, and the fear of being vulnerable again. With patience, prayer, and the guidance of God's timing, they discover that second chances are possible, forgiveness is powerful, and love can blossom when hearts are ready. Set against the breathtaking Australian outback, Slow Road to Love is a heartwarming, faith-filled contemporary romance about healing, hope, and the quiet, enduring power of God's grace. Table of ContentsReviewsReviewed by Sefina Hawke for Readers' Favorite ""Slow Road to Love"" (A Sunburned Land Series Book 1 by Juliette Duncan is a Christian contemporary romance that would appeal most to an audience of middle-aged and older adults who enjoy Christian romance stories. Maggie Donovan's life took quite a turn when her politician husband of thirty-five years left her to be with a woman much younger than her. This leads to Maggie choosing to divert her focus to her job as a reporter, her children, and her church. Her devotion to her career leads Maggie to travel to the remote Kimberley area where she meets widower Frank Goddard. Will Maggie and Frank be able to put their pasts behind them and form a relationship or will their differences prove insurmountable? Slow Road to Love by Juliette Duncan is a well-written book with a visually appealing cover image. I liked the fact that the author chose to put the two main characters on the cover as it gave me a clear picture of what each one of them looked like. I liked that Maggie and Frank were not the typical characters one reads about in romances as both were older and they each had already been in a marital relationship, which gave each of them more depth as a character. I enjoyed following Maggie through her troubles and feelings as she got to know Frank and, more importantly, as she opened her heart to him. Overall, I greatly enjoyed reading this book and I look forward to being able to read the rest of the series in the future!"" ""I absolutely loved this series . I hated for it to end. The characters were all so believable and the storyline drew me in. I felt a part of the Goddard family. Juliette Duncan is my new favorite author."" Janice V ""You just felt you knew the main characters, like you were part of the family. You walked through their joys and their sorrows, triumphs and defeats. I really hated to see it end."" Barbara W ""Loved this story featuring Maggie and Frank venturing into a second chance at love. Cathartic and tender it took me on a journey through the Australian outback and the homesteads that still farm and work their own land with all the hardships that come with it. Frank is the owner of one these isolated homesteads and Maggie is from the City. Will there love survive?""
