Reviews

Slovenia's Transition is a first rate anaylsis of Slovenia's economic development, from the earliest times to its acceptance to the EU in 2004. The authors, Bogomil Ferfila and Paul Phillips are acknowledged experts in the field and this book demonstrates the range and depth of their expertise. The book has a remarkably compact but impressive review of Slovenia's development in the Yugoslav Federation, but concentrates mainly on the problems of transition since independence. It has strong sections on labor relations, monetary policy, fiscal policy and the political economy of the transition. It is an excellent piece of work and should be required reading for scholars of transitional economies.--John Loxley
