Nancy S. Redeker, PhD, RN, FAAN is Professor and Associate Dean for Scholarly Affairs, Yale University School of Nursing, New Haven, Connecticut. An expert on sleep, sleep disorders, and circadian rhythms of activity-rest in persons who have heart disease, she has published numerous data-based, theoretical, and clinical papers in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Redeker has obtained research funding from a variety of sources, including the NIH and the American Nurses Foundation, and is currently directing a study of sleep and functional performance in heart failure, funded by the National Institute of Nursing Research. Dr. Redeker has also received numerous awards, including the Mission Achievement Award from the American Heart Association.
