Slab pot techniques are explained and demonstrated and the preparation of the templates needed to produce the figures is described. Guidance on the tools and work surfaces used in the building of these figures.is included. I have outlined all the practical pottery skills and techniques required to enable students to design their own cone shaped models after working through the step by step practice projects provided. Although the body is a simple cone shape I have made it possible for students to ring the changes and produce as many varied models as their imagination allows. Included in the script and pictures are variants on arms, feet, hats, beards and hair. Includes two practice projects covering all the skills discussed in the tutorial.
