Overview

The present study is divided into five chapters. Chapter-1 presents the Introduction about Reading comprehension, Background of Reading comprehension. Chapter-2 has two parts: Part-A and Part-B. Part-A explains the details of Reading a Fundamental Skill, importance of Reading. Part-B consists of Introduction, Review of Related Literature. Chapter-3 Presents Research Design and Methodology, The Reading Process, Reading Strategies, Elements of Reading Comprehension, Type of Research, the list of selected schools for this Study, Titles of Reading Cards, Description of Reading Cards, Instructions to the students, Vocabulary, Use of pictures while conducting try- out, Classroom procedure, Design of the study and administration of tests, Procedure and Format of the Study, Pupil's Evaluation worksheet and Conclusion. Chapter-4 entitled Analysis and Interpretation of the Data, explains introduction, Analysis of Try-out on Reading Comprehension at three different schools in Chittoor district, analysis of pre-test, mid-test, final-test and Opinions of ELT- Experts, Conclusion. Chapter-5 is the Conclusion Findings and Suggestions.
