Table of ContentsReviewsSketch While You Travel provided me with the insight, means and method, for a future travel, to sketch points of interest. I enjoyed the author's way of speaking directly to me the reader while outlining the manner in which he selects the scene to sketch. Most intriguing is the way the author captures the essence of his subject without illustrating every detail, as is nicely documented throughout his colorful book. Direction is provided on how to draw elements such as people, trees, etc. along with suggesting colors to use. Frank Stiene This is a very enjoyable book for many reasons. Perhaps the main reasons are the very beautiful sketches of interesting scenes around the world, many well known but represented in a unique vision. Beyond that, it is a delightful narrative of an artist's passion for art, technique, travel, history, culture and people. Dick Gerstman gives us details we rarely get from an artist about his art, including very clear instructions on how to sketch as well as how he went about sketching his subjects with interesting details about the scenes and the situations he encountered. The book can inspire anyone to sketch while they travel, and see things from a different perspective . E. Szylinski This book has become the best gift I can give to my traveling friends! Ronda Gates Easy to follow the instructions, and lots of color illustrations. David P Jenkins Author Information"For 35 years, Richard Gerstman has been drawing wherever he travels.
