Author Information

Ben Wixon, MED, is a recreation leader and programming consultant for Portland Parks and Recreation and also teaches middle school in the Portland Public School District. He earned a master's of education with a focus on curriculum and instruction at Arizona State University in 2002. Throughout his 20 years of skateboarding experience, Wixon has performed in public skateboarding demonstrations and competed in and judged numerous competitions. He has competed in several World Cup Skateboarding events as well as the 2000 and 2002 Van's Amateur World Championships.
