Served in the Royal Navy as a submariner and navigator until 1962 Married Sally Blakeney 1959 Daughter Caroline born 1961 and son Nigel 1963 Emigrated to Rhodesia 1962 Worked on Charter Estate cattle ranch until 1964 Grew tobacco and essential oil in Umvukwes area then started Sitra Pottery with Sally in 1967. Moved the Pottery to Melfort in 1973 to Ridge End Farm Evicted from Ridge End Farm 2005 and went to live in Harare
