Dr. Wasana Wongsurawat is assistant professor in the Department of History, Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. Her area of expertise is the history of modern China, the Chinese Diaspora, transnational and global history. She was the co-editor of Dynamics of the Cold War in Asia: Ideology, Identity and Culture (Palgrave Macmillan 2010). Among her latest publications is the article, ""Beyond Jews of the Orient: A New Interpretation of the Problematic Relationship between the Thai State and its Ethnic Chinese Community"" (positions: asia critique, volume 24, issue 2, 2016).
