Sipping Darkness

Overview

Following his best-selling essay collections Detective in the Dooryard and Dawn in the Dooryard, and the hilarious Got Warrants, retired Maine police officer Tim Cotton has turned his keyboard to fiction. Cole Miller is a retired officer reeling from the recent death of his wife. He is drawn back to the law by the case of a repeat offender who is allowed to remain free--and continue to carry out despicable acts--by a loophole in the system. Sipping Darkness is a novel about the often shady line between good and evil, and about the men and women who walk that line to keep the darkness at bay.

Author Information

Lt. (Retired) Timothy Cotton is a 34 year police officer/detective. He has always been drawn to writing about the people he has met along the way. Dealing with the standard issue ne’er-do-wells as a patrol officer, homicide detective, polygraph examiner, and later as the lieutenant in charge of the criminal investigation division provides an interesting point of view about the folks he met along the way. More often he writes about the regular folks he encounters in his travels around his beloved home state of Maine. Cotton has been a regular guest on Mike Rowe's podcast ""The Way I Heard It,"" NPR's Morning Edition, Maine Public Radio, and featured in The Washington Post, People, Ad Age Magazine, Huffpost, and numerous television, radio and podcast interviews regarding his international social media following.
