Author Information

Prof. Bankim Chandra Ray is a senior professor of the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department, National Institute of Technology Rourkela. He received his Ph.D. and master’s degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. His research interests include polymer composite materials, phase transformations, heat treatments, and solidification. Prof. Ray’s research centers on the impact of extreme environmental conditions on FRP composites. Currently, he is also the advisor to the TATA Steel New Materials Business and the editor of the Transactions of The Indian Institute of Metals (TIIM). Dr Arghya Majumder is currently serving as a director, School of Mines and Metallurgy, Kazi Nazrul University, Asansol, a state-owned University, Govt of West Bengal. He obtained his Ph.D. from Jadavpur University. He had been instrumental in ensuring the quality of steel through stringent process control over raw material handling plant, sinter plant as well as Blast Furnace for more than two decades.
