Alexa Leary is a survivor. At 19, she was a champion triathlete when she suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI) in a horrific cycling accident. Alexa wasn't expected to survive the crash, but she defied those expectations and beat the odds to start her ""second life."" While in hospital, she inspired the MoveForLex campaign and motivated thousands of people to move for those who can't. After learning to walk and talk again, Alexa jumped back in the pool and found a new purpose. In 2023, she earned a place on the Australian Paralympic Swimming Team, and the following year she won two gold and one silver medal at the Paris Paralympics. In 2025, she was awarded an OAM for her extraordinary achievements in sport. Sink or Swim is her first book; it won't be her last.
