Reviews

So many of us feel like absolute failures at prayer. Whether it is our season of life or our attention span that inhibits us, prayer can feel mysterious and strangely hard. Thankfully, Deb Hopper has provided a simple and accessible path forward. With both courageous vulnerability and hard-won faith, Deb is the prayer mentor you have been longing for. If you feel discouraged and stuck, this book is for you!--Sharon Hodde Miller, Author of The Cost of Control Simply Pray is bursting with insightful wisdom, authoritative truth, and powerful testimonies that will pull on your heart strings and increase your faith. Whether you are just dipping your toes into prayer or you've been fully submersed for years, this book will provide you with strategically effective methods to reach the heart of heaven with your prayers.--Jenna Surratt, Sisterhood pastor, Seacoast Church Reading Simply Pray is like sitting down with the Godly (and fun) wiser woman you've always wanted to take to coffee with your journal in hand as you rapidly take notes, looking up to say, 'But, how?' and 'What if the answer is always no?' Debbie's personal 'avalanche' led to a powerful prayer life, now resulting in words that fall with the soothing grace and beauty of a fresh, gentle snow. These are the pages I didn't realize I desperately needed to read.--Kelly Pelfrey, Professional artist and author of Delight Hebrews tells us that faith does not just believe there is a God but also that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him. You want to believe not just that there is power in prayer but that there is power in your prayer. I am a living testimony of this book. I watched an imperfect woman faithfully pray and see God move heaven on my behalf. If you need to know a simple path to increase your faith and, in turn, your prayer life, this is the book for you. It will inspire you to get at Jesus's feet and see Him do some heavy lifting; all you have to do is ASK!--Katie Walters, Founder & CEO of Francis + Benedict and coauthor of New Marriage, Same Couple In Simply Pray, Debbie's clarity and simplicity helped me create a fresh practice of prayer. The principles of Matthew 7:7 to ask, seek, and knock are unfolded with refreshing honesty of how messy our prayers begin, practical applications and tools to bring focus to our prayers, and rich illustrations of answered prayers. If your prayer life needs some CPR to bring back a strong heartbeat, this is the book for you--Lisa Allen, Your Confidence Coach, L.J. Allen Coaching

Author Information

Deb Hopper felt called to ministry at age 16, and she spent the first 25 years of her professional career serving in the church and working in the corporate world. Her years as a business manager helped her provide for two young daughters as a single mother but were also the breaking point in her spiritual life and the beginning of a power-filled prayer journey. After 10 years as the women's pastor at Seacoast Church (a 25,000-member megachurch based in South Carolina), she transitioned off staff to pursue family ministry and life coaching. Married for 27 years to Gibson Hopper, she has three daughters, two sons-in-love, and 11 grandchildren.
