Author Information

Giulio Lorenzini is Full Professor of Environmental Technical Physics at the University of Parma, Italy. An MSc graduate in Nuclear Engineering (1994) and Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering (1999) - from Alma Mater Studiorum-University of Bologna, Italy. He is author of some 200 scientific publications, most of which are scientific papers published in international peer reviewed journals and research monographies. He is currently interested in optimization methods in heat transfer and fluid dynamics, Bejan's Constructal Theory, bio-fluid dynamics, analytical and numerical modeling of natural phenomena. Alessandra De Angelis received her Ph.D. in Energy Technologies in 2005 from the University of Udine, Italy. She is currently a Research fellow at the Dipartimento di Ingegneria Elettrica, Gestionale e Meccanica, University of Udine. She has taught courses in Thermal Equipments in Buildings within the B.Sc. program in Architecture, Faculty of Engineering and courses in Physics within the B.Sc. program in Agricultural Science and Technology, Faculty of Agriculture. Her research interests include: building thermophysics, energy saving and renewable energy in buildings, efficiency and energy saving evaluation for heating and cooling plants and computational analysis of thermal and fluid dynamic problems in the commercial equipments; on these topics, she has published many papers in leading journals and conferences. Onorio Saro is an Associate Professor of Technical Physics at the University of Udine (1999 to present). His scientific activity focuses on the following areas: numerical methods in non linear heat conduction and in heat transfer in conduction-convection coupled problems; computational modeling of free and forced convection; performance of building-plant systems in term of energy requirements and comfort. He has authored over 80 scientific papers, on these topics, published in national and international journals or presented at conferences. Stefano D'Elia was born in Campobasso in 1985. He received his MSc in Industrial Engineering from the University of Bologna, Italy, with a dissertation on Energy Management. He participated in the VI National Congress of AIGE (2012) illustrating the work on the use of phase change materials (PCM) to recover energy in steel industry. His current interests are in the field of industrial processes optimization in FIAT Group.
