OverviewA rollicking, informative power book to help wine consumers and members of the trade remove the hot air from how we talk about wine. Interpret wine reviews, wine lists and poseur conversation. Generate your OWN language and find your desert island wine. A consumer review: I have found your book interesting and enjoyable. Had guests show up so have not finished it. As a mathematician by early training and disposition, your observations reminded me that people are people, no matter who they are, what they do, or where they do it. You might be asking yourself how does being mathematically inclined relate to people being people. Well, for me, human behavior is relatively predictable and when combined with that of others then it follows the rules of any self-organizing system. Your descriptions of individual behavior and the industry as a whole correlate closely with almost any area of human focus and endeavor. Being reminded of that is always good, because I am one of those people. So, thank you. As to your advice on how to describe wine, I completely concur but would suggest that, at least for me, you must experience Yuk to be able to experience Yum.
