Overview

"The story begins as Mia and her daughter Bella go apple picking at a farm. Bella loves to be silly. She laughs as she balances an apple on her arm, and asks 'What can we make? What can we make?"" Mama says ""an apple cake""! So home they go, to mix and bake, and soon they are eating apple cake! The phrase ""silly willy"" is a play on words and introduces the idea of fun activities using rhyming words. This children's series is designed to foster love within families by promoting fun activities with parent and child. It also introduces rhyming to children. Rhyming helps children with memory and promotes learning. Reciting rhyming is also an excellent bonding activity for parents and children, or in a group setting with children. Each story is inspired by warm childhood memories of me watching my mother cook all kinds of scrumptious foods and the fun times we had in the kitchen. Recipes for apple cake, apple chips, and icing with step-by-step instructions are included in the back of the book! Cute rhyming story! My kids, ages 5 and 8, loved the story of Mia and Bella and their silly rhymes. My 8 year old read the book to my 5 year old and she loved to guess the rhyming word as he read. Lovely, sweet and fun. Thanks to the author for writing this delightful rhyming gem and providing a recipe which can be handed down from generation to generation. Get ready to smile! I love the rhyming and simple joy that Silly Willy Apple Cake brings. It is so fun to read over and over again. And of course, I'm going to try the recipe at the end very soon! A sweet story with a recipe I look forward to trying! My 8-year-old enjoyed the story, the rhymes, and the sweet illustrations. And I appreciate the recipe at the end! Now, my kids want apple cake. Fortunately for me, my eldest daughter loves to bake! Really cute The artwork is really charming and the rhyming story is really cute including the idea of a fun rhyming game that families will enjoy imitating. It's not only a wonderful read for young children but a great follow up activity. Sweet and Adorable This book is a cute rhyming story sure to entertain little readers. We loved the bright illustrations and the recipe at the end. A fun, light smile-maker. Fun with word play! My son enjoyed this fun story which is perfect for fall! The rhyme and word play is great for developing pre-reading skills in young children and the recipe at the end makes a nice extension into real life. My Son Loved It! The book serves as a bedtime story, activity book, and cookbook. There are many things to like about the story: the learning opportunities on every page, which include counting, color identification, vocabulary, and rhyming. Also worth mentioning is the charming art.
