OverviewSilent Journey is the compelling story of 24 year old Michelle Britton. Her adventures in her young life took her to Hawaii, Fiji, New Zealand, Australia and Europe. She was completing a four year commerce degree, majoring in hotel management. She was just beginning to pursue her passion in life, to work and live in places all around the world. Then, in an instant, it all changed. One morning while running errands at the university, Michelle experienced a devastating arterial dissection that involved damage to her brain stem. Family and friends waited anxiously at the hospital. Michelle's life was in peril. When Michelle awakes, she has trouble opening her eyes. She hears the footsteps of people shuffling around her. Finally, she lifts her heavy eyelids. She can see only shadows. There are odd noises coming from some sort of machine next to her. Michelle wonders, Where is my body? She tries to move, and realizes she cannot feel anything. ANYTHING! Michelle's future now involves a desperate struggle to live a useful life despite being trapped inside a horribly wounded body. Her positive determination gives us all a reason for hope.
