A Comparison of Proceedings in the Singapore International Commercial Court with the Advantages and Disadvantages of International Arbitration Proceedings Why would parties take their commercial disputes to the Singapore International Commercial Court (SICC) rather than the more popular arbitration? To answer this question, this monograph analyses the extent to which the pros and cons of arbitration apply to the SICC. It examines the constitution and organisation of the SICC, the professional law of lawyers and law firms, the law of procedure, enforcement and litigation costs as well as third-party litigation funding as they relate to the SICC. German description: Die Eroffnung des Singapore International Commercial Court (SICC) im Jahr 2015 wurde in der deutschsprachigen Fachwelt mit Interesse zur Kenntnis genommen, jedoch fehlte bislang eine monografische Auseinandersetzung mit diesem Gericht. Dieser Band schliesst diese Lucke und beleuchtet den SICC als praxisrelevantes Beispiel, um einen Beitrag zur aktuellen Diskussion und zum Gesetzgebungsverfahren zu Commercial Courts in Deutschland zu leisten.Untersucht wird, inwieweit Parteien zur Beilegung eines Handelsrechtsstreits nicht den popularen Weg zum Schiedsgericht, sondern zum SICC wahlen sollten. Zur Beantwortung wird analysiert, inwieweit die Starken und Schwachen der Schiedsgerichtsbarkeit auch fur den SICC als staatliches Spezialgericht gelten. Dabei wird auf das Gerichtsverfassungs- und -organisationsrecht, das Berufsrecht der Anwalte und Kanzleien, das Verfahrensrecht, das Vollstreckungsrecht sowie das Prozesskostenrecht und das Recht der Prozessfinanzierung durch Dritte eingegangen.
