Shy Mountain

Overview

Sarah and Charlie thought they had survived the worst when they stopped a conspiracy to awaken a Great Old One. In the years since, life in their Ozark hometown had returned to normal despite knowing that eldritch horrors wait just beyond the veil of dreams. Now, three years later, the shadows stir again. Friends and family vanish, and Sarah and Charlie must discover whether these attacks are acts of revenge - or the opening move in something far more dangerous. As old alliances reform and new allies step into the fight, detectives, scholars, and survivors must piece together a puzzle that stretches from forgotten mines to drowned coastlines. Pursued by enemies who wear human faces but are older than humanity, they race to uncover the truth before they lose everything. Terrifying and atmospheric, Shy Mountain continues the saga started in Eminence. A saga of forbidden history and the horrors that lurk in the dark.

Author Information

Mark Schenewerk hails from a small town in rural central Missouri and holds a Ph.D. in Astronomy from the University of Illinois. After a distinguished career as an astronomer and geodesist on the East Coast of the United States, he retired in 2021. Now settled back in central Missouri with his beautiful wife and adoring cats, Mark indulges his love of backyard astronomy, reading, and watching classic science fiction and horror movies. Drawing inspiration from these passions, Mark weaves his deep appreciation for science into enthralling tales where ordinary individuals confront seemingly incomprehensible cosmic horrors and supernatural mysteries.
